A Piece of Candy: A Piece of Inspiration

Monday | Sept 5, 2011

It started around 1.30pm when I started to feel some pain in my stomach. It felt like my insides are melting. My org was having an inter-school event so I gave it enough time to see if it would stop. But it didn't, so I decided to go home. I started feeling weak when I got aboard a Katipunan jeep. I walked like I was drunk towards the station, swerving a magnitude of crowd. It was in the station when I decided to go to the comfort room and barfed. I wanted to barf more but I knew I needed to go home. I got aboard the train and suddenly my vision got so bright. It go to the point where everything was white. I thought I was about to faint, and maybe my parents would just know where I am after watching the daily news (I know, I often exaggerate things). Fortunately, I didn't. I heard a voice, of a woman whose age was around 40-50. He called me "boy!" I tried to look for where she was. Then my vision regained focus to a woman sitting near me. "Nahihilo ka boy, upo ka" she said along with her hand, signalling me to sit down. So I did. I sat down against the pole. She gave me candy. Then I started to regain my vision. Still, I feel cold. After that, I thanked her even though I knew that a simple "thank you" would not be enough to repay her. She finally said "Ingat ka ah." I got off the train and rode a jeep going home with my stomach pain worsening. I got home safely, and my parents rushed me to the hospital.

If that kind lady wasn't even there, I don't know what could have happened. Would I faint? Would someone be good-hearted enough to bring me to a hospital? I don't know. All I know is that I am so thankful that she's there. I won't forget what she has done for me. That simple candy means a lot, and did good to me a lot. And I know God really loves us. In His own simple ways, He's always ready to give a helping hand.
