People everyday just demand for massive improvement of the country in just a short amount of time. I mean, really? We want massive change in a macroscopic level but if you look at the microscopic level of our country, do you think our laws are being followed?
Simple everyday laws are being broken and it's a habit of the Filipino people. Trash decorated our streets. Rats have blended in with the everyday crowd. Citizens are now called Jaywalkers.
Filipino people have been brainwashed by reverse psychology. People disobey rules right in front of the signs. No means yes, and yes means yes. No jaywalking, when translated in Tagalog is "DITO PO ANG TAWIRAN". And even DOON PO ANG TAWIRAN means "DITO PO ANG TAWIRAN." The threats accompanied by the signs are just jokes to Filipino people. Really. Really.
I wouldn't be be shocked by the heavy floods of broken laws every single damn day. Literal floods have been recurring, and obviously, it's the damn government's fault. Really?
That picture says it all. We live in a tropical country where typhoons are considered tourist regulars, and when it rains, it washes all those damn dirty solid wastes to our poorly constructed and poorly planned canals that overflow even with a single drop of water. Our streets become toxic rivers during the rain and it's obviously the damn government's fault. We, Filipinos, really make a habit of blaming someone else for our mistakes. Yes, and the default blame is our government. Yes they have a role in the poor urban planning and the poor planning of our drainage system. They also have a role in poorly constructed laws and having slacking slackers we call officials (police or whatever). But mainly, it's the people's fault.
We can't improve as a nation if we can't even improve on ourselves. The laws are broken everyday and no one even fucking cares. IF YOU WANT CHANGE, START WITH YOURSELF.
